Art for Wellness is most often an abstract form of drawing. You do not need to have any skills besides being able to hold a pen. You are coached in the drawing process and will receive expert guidance.
Sessions are held in person or over Zoom. The work is equally effective as long as we are able to talk and you can show me your drawing from time to time. I draw with you to guide you and my drawing is visible during the session.
Prior to, or at the beginning, of the session we will discuss your issue, problem, topic, and your desired result. Together we will select the process to use. Most sessions take about 1 to 1.5 hours. With a complex topic we can make a longer session or work on the topic over 2 or more sessions. At the end of the session, you have a visual reference to anchor you in the change. The goal of the session, the desired result, drives the work forward to change.
For in person sessions, I provide the drawing materials, but you are welcome to bring your own, if you wish.
For zoom sessions, you will need: drawing or white, unlined paper, pens, coloured markers, pencils and/or highlighters, as desired, and a paper for notes. You will also need access to a device to join the online meeting.
There are many videos on YouTube and they can help, but they are generic and not specific to any one client's needs at that time. They may also be led by a trained Drawing Specialist or not.
A Neurographica Specialist is trained in the drawing, and coaching process. It is a thorough training to ensure that clients get the best help possible.

When we draw we use our hands for movement and our eyes to visually connect with the drawing. Because the process uses so much of our body it makes it easier for us to get out of the analytical mind and connect with our internal sensations and message.
The body is a great repository of information and through the body we can more easily access the non-conscious minds for insight and wisdom.
As we change how we feel and think through drawing, this change is embodied and we then begin to change our lives.

You may not have drawn or doodled recently but it is very likely that you still write with a pen and maybe even draw lines or circles from time to time.
That is the only skill you need; the ability to hold a pencil.
Even if you do not have art materials you can use a regular pen or pencil and white, unlined paper.
That is very common. Children usually love to draw but sometimes others can be unthinkingly critical. If that is your story, then Art for Wellness is the perfect tool to work through those thoughts and prove to yourselve that everyone can draw and achieve powerful results through drawing.
I'm not sure if I will like this process. Many people feel unsure about doing this work if they have not drawn in a long time. The best way to see if you like it or not is to experience the process for yourself.
I've never heard of this before. Neurographica was developed in 2014 and the Art of Manifesting ™ was developed in 2025. These are recent methods for coaching people to make change in their lives. However, the field of NeuroArts first started in1922 and has slowly grown in popularity and recognition. Recently, there is a growing body of evidence of how art can help us change our brain and our lives.
