Shamanism in Montreal

What is Earth-Based Shamanism?

Earth-based shamanism is based on connection with animals, elements, and energies to help people explore experiences, beliefs, and connections influencing how they feel and experience life.

You can experience shamanic healing with Debbie in person in Pointe-Claire, Montreal West Island or online.

Feeling Stuck or Seeking Something More?

You don't need to know exactly what is holding you back or why you feel stuck.
Through guided journeys, we can create space for exploration, energy work and greater self-connection.

If you're curious about exploring your energy, discovering deeper patterns and reconnecting with yourself, we begin wherever you are.

What is Shamanism

Earth-based shamanism is energy healing that draws on the ancient understanding of our connection with the natural world and the energies around us. Working in sacred space, we acknowledge the elements and the interconnectedness of plants, animals, birds, insects, ancestors and spirit helpers.
Through guided journeys, shamanic healing and ceremony, we create opportunities for exploration, balance, self-discovery and spiritual connection.

Shamanic sessions are held in Sacred Space where you are guided into a state of relaxation and on a journey. There is some talking but there may also be drumming and sound work as part of the session.

Many things can be done in a session, but some of the most requested journeys are:

* Soul retrieval
* Stagnant energy removal
* Cord cutting
* Meeting Higher Self & Spirit Guide
* Power Animal Retrieval

* Past life journeys
* Story rewriting
*Akashic record readings
* Ancestral & lineage work

Shamanic Sessions Flow?

Sessions last approximately one hour and are available in person in Pointe-Claire, Montreal or online. We begin with a brief conversation about what you want to explore. Then comfortably lying down or sitting, fully clothed, with your eyes closed, I guide you through the session as discussed.
Some examples of session work are;
* guided journeys,
* energetic corrections,
* meeting spirit guides, ancestors, and power animals,
* rewriting stories as examples,
There is no physical contact.
We finish with time to rest, followed by a brief discussion of the session and suggestions for integration and self-care.

Debbie's Journey

My path to shamanic work began with my own journey of personal growth and discovery. I had a difficult start in life, and experiences along the way left me with emotional wounds, low self-esteem and limiting beliefs about myself and what I was capable of achieving.

Over the years, I explored many avenues of personal development, including self-help, counselling and therapy. Each helped me gain understanding and make changes in my life.

When I discovered shamanic work, I found another way to explore my experiences. It helped me connect with patterns and survival responses that I hadn't been consciously aware of, working with them through the subconscious and energetic aspects of my experience.

What I found particularly powerful was that, in releasing the energy connected to these experiences, I also began to uncover the wisdom and learning within them. I developed greater compassion for myself and an understanding of why I had needed to develop certain ways of being to navigate my life.

 As I gained this understanding and worked through the energy, I experienced a sense of liberation from patterns and beliefs that had influenced my emotions, thoughts, body and sense of self.

I fell in love with shamanic work at my very first workshop in June 2021. Since then, I have devoted many hours to learning and training with several teachers, deepening my understanding and experience so that I could eventually offer this work to others.

Today, I bring both my personal experience and my training to the work I offer, with a genuine appreciation for the possibilities that guided journeys, energy work and self-discovery can open up.

Earth-Based Shamanic Work FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

*A shaman is someone who has trained in some form of shamanic healing somewhere in the world. There are many different shamanic traditions. However, there may be another name in different traditions.
* The word 'Shaman' comes from the Tungusic language of peoples in Siberia. Shamanic traditions in other parts of the world have their ownequivalent titles, but the shaman has become the English way to describe the person and the work.
* Some traditions are still alive and present like shamanism in the indigenous populations of North and South America, while others are less known like Celtic Shamanism.
* Some shamanic traditions use plant medicines but not all.
* Shamans generally work with the energies of the natural world and the spirit world.

* In many traditions, but not all, the word shaman is given to the person by the community. The Shaman may not self-declare themselves to be a shaman until the community has bestowed this title.
* I am in my sixth year of training with 850 hours of training and this training is ongoing, so I have a very strong foundation in the work I offer.
* I call myself a shamanic practitioner rather than shaman, because I want people to focus on that is what I offer, and the benefits they experience.

* In shamanic traditions, there is often an understanding that everything has a spirit and that we can connect with the energies of the natural and spirit worlds.
* Shamanism is not a religion, although in some cultures and traditions it is an important part of spiritual life.  You don't need to share these beliefs or follow a particular religion to experience a shamanic session.
* People of all faiths, as well as those who don't follow a religion, are welcome.
* You don't need to believe in shamanism for a session to be meaningful. What helps is having an open mind, a willingness to participate and an openness to following the guidance I offer throughout the session.

* No. I do not use or administer psychedelic plants, plant medicines or other plant-based substances as part of my sessions.  Some shamanic traditions incorporate plant medicines, while others do not.
* This has not been part of my training or practice.  I may work with the energy of trees and other plants during a guided journey, but no plant products or substances are used or applied to the body.
I usually offer plain water to clients at the end to help ground and become fully present.

* Basically come as you are.
* I will ask what you would like to explore and ask you to set an intention for the session, but that is it.
* Clothes remain on and there is no physical touching during the session.
* Clients can either lie on the massage table or sit in a chair, as they prefer.
* At the end of the session, I will explain some self-care tips.

* This is discussed at the first meeting and it depends on the complexity of what you want to work on, and how deep you want to go.
* Clients can book one session at a time as they the need, or they can book several sessions. I have packages that clients can buy at a reduced price.
