Chinese 5 Elements Framework
& the 12 Animals Zodiac System

The Chinese system has 5 elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. Plus the Chinese have a 12-animal zodiac system.
Every year, in February, at the Chinese New Year, a new zodiac animal and new element come into play. 2026 is the year of the Fire Horse = Fire + Horse. This combination only occurs every 60 years.

Fire energy is intense. It is associated with transformation, rapid change, passion and maximum effort.

Fire is your element of choice to make change. Out of control, it can destroy, wreck havoc, create exhaustion and burn out.
Fire energy needs to be managed and grounded with Earth energy and calmed with Water energy.
The goal is to use fire energy while harnessing and managing the intensity.

The Horse in the Chinese zodiac represents forward momentum, untamed freedom, decisive action, and rapid success.

Horse energy is the energy of choice to move forward with courage and determination. Horse energy is social, and enthusiastic.
Horse energy needs to be managed so that you move forward in the direction you want with purpose and control. The goal is to use horse energy for freedom and creativity.

As you can see Fire + Horse is an incredibly formidable and passionate energy. However, uncontrolled this combination can be very challenging especially for people who are not fire energy people.

The goal of this workshop is to work with Fire Horse energy with intention, and grounding and to create a partnership for 2026 where you can manage the energy and make it work for you no matter what your Chinese element sign is.

You do not need to be an artist or even how to draw. If you can hold a pencil or marker, you do the workshop. You will be guided on how to carry out the drawing and meditation.

What is Intentional Drawing?

Intentional drawing is a method to make change in your life, and for connecting with your thoughts, your emotions, and your body sensations to understand yourself better, to access your insights and inner wisdom to make change in your life.
With Intentional drawing you start with an intention and through the drawing and connection process you make a change towards your goal.

PLEASE NOTE: For this workshop, you will be invited to draw on Black Paper, however, you are welcome to draw on white paper. It is your choice. Whatever, you choose, your drawing will be just as powerful and beautiful. Make the choice that is best for you at this time.

Drawing On Black

Drawing on black paper is a very signigicant practice. It challenges us to go different and deep and supports us in accessing wisdom, and insights because it is a powerful practice that is so different from the usual way of working with colour on white paper. Drawing on black, with the support of moon energy, will empower release, realisations, change, and growth. In these 5 workshops, we will draw with black paper. I will upload a video with helpful hints before the workshop.

What Do You Need?

For these workshops, we will be drawing on black paper. You may need to look at some supplies.
You will definately need:
* Black drawing paper
* A selection of some or all of the following:
* Pencils
* Light-coloured, chisel-highlighters
* Light-coloured markers
* Acrylic pens

I have tested the above and they work either for drawing liness (pencils or acrylic markers) or for shading (light-coloured highlighters and markers). See the video below where I draw the lines in the image and show you the materials.

* Pagather 24 Colour Acrylic Paint Markers
* Castle Arts Soft Touch Coloured Pencils
* Brutfuner Oil Colour Pencils

I encourage you to get the black paper and then dry drawing with the supplies you already have and see how it goes. However, based on my test, for the lines and main colouring the best choice is the acrylic markers.

If you really can not wrap your head around the idea of drawing on black, you can use white paper. But it will fun and more dramatic to draw on black.
